The Fall Protection Anchor is part of RoofScreen Manufacturing’s innovative product line. The AISI Type 304 Stainless Steel anchor is intended to integrate into their commercial rooftop equipment screening system to serve as a fall protection and fall arrest anchor point.
The anchors arrived at our paint shop on a pallet in raw form. Pretreatment was not necessary for this project as the Fall Protection Anchor is constructed of 100% AISI Type 304 Stainless Steel. Stainless steel is chemically inert so there is no practical chemical treatment to increase adhesion of powder. A quick trip to our sandblasting room to apply a media blast to slightly roughen the surface, followed by a primer coat left the anchors ready for powder coating. The primer coat provides increased topcoat durability and gives the powder finish more vibrance and uniformity around the edges of the components.
As this product is used in commercial grade safety applications, a vibrant yellow finish was specified. We wanted to use a powder that would have a bright finish when cured and stand up to the wear and tear of attached metal tie-offs. Cardinal’s Yellow Gloss T009-YL01 was perfect for the job. The Polyester TGIC Powder offers excellent durability, mar resistance, edge coverage and flexibility while exhibiting the perfect hue of glossy yellow for the application.
